In Her Words - An Ode To Nikki Giovanni

“In Her Words, An Ode to Nikki Giovanni” showcased works from the members of The Creative Women Of Color (@creativewomenofcolor ) organization in dedication to world renowned poet, Nikki Giovanni. Nikki is considered to be one of the foremost authors of the Black Arts Movement with numerous pieces of work exploring race, gender, sexuality, and the African American family.

Each member of the CWOC created a piece of work that was inspired by one of Nikki’s poems. The exhibition showcased pieces from all types of mediums.
