OUR MISSION
All People Arts seeks to engage and unite the people on the South Side of Columbus and beyond in expressing, creating and experiencing art.
Our Story
All People Arts was formed in 2017, as a birth child of Community Development for All People (CD4AP). One of CD4AP’s many programs is called HEAL – which stands for Healthy Eating and Living. The HEAL program is designed to bring wellness to residents on the South Side of Columbus. A VISTA intern recognized the value in bringing access to art to the community as a method of mental and spiritual wellness. HEAL through Art was born and was essentially the firm program of what has become All People Arts. HEAL through Art still takes place today, with around 20 participants each week at the Reeb Avenue Center.
All People Arts (APA) became an independent 501(c)(3) in 2018 and hired its first Executive Director, Shelbi Harris-Roseboro who is an entrepreneur, exhibiting artist, and community arts educator. Shelbi has set the vision for All People Arts, along with Board Co-Presidents April Sunami and Adam Brouillette. All People Arts hosted it’s launch on May 23, 2019 at the Cultural Arts Center. Community Development for All People was able to secure commercial space in the senior independent living center called Parsons Village II, located at the corner of Parsons Ave. and Reeb Ave. on the South Side. The All People Arts Gallery, Workshop space, and co-op with Third Way Café officially opened in the Fall of 2020.
